It is truly a pleasure to introduce you to the new website of the Louisiana Neurosurgical Society. This site has a wealth of information and allows for better communication among neurosurgeons throughout Louisiana. Also, this gives greater access to information regarding events, meetings, courses, membership information and membership dues.

LANS was incorporated in 1973, and possesses a rich heritage. Traditionally, our meetings are held in New Orleans every other year, and in various other parts of Louisiana on a rotating basis. The average attendance ranges from 35 - 40 neurosurgeons, as well as avid participation from three neurosurgical education programs. A collegiate atmosphere permeates these meetings, and the society always hosts an honored guest. In addition, residents receive Research Awards for the best presentations.

This society annually comes together to enable Louisiana neurosurgeons to define future goals and directions for their profession. Neurosurgeons, medical professionals, and those with a purely educational interest will find pertinent and engaging information within this site.
